KPLT Militants Arrested in Assam’s Karbi Anglong District

Two hardcore militants of Karbi People’s Liberation Tiger (KPLT) were arrested by security forces in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Saturday evening, police said on Sunday.

“Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of police and army launched a search operation at Rajapathar area undertwo militants,” Karbi Anglong Additional SP Ghana Hazarika said.

The nabbed militant were identified as Deben Bey and Dhansing Terang.

Security forces recovered one 7.65 pistol with magazine and mobile phone from their possession.

Meanwhile, a high official police sources said after the killing of five hardcore militants including its top leader Nilip Enghi in an encounter with security forces on April 19, the militant group has faced internal clash between the leaders and cadres.

As the result, KPLT had lost its c-in-c Bling Hanse, who was allegedly killed by his colleagues on May 2.

The police official sources said a seven member group of the militant led by its top leader Danir Kramsa has been trying to contact with security forces and the group would like to surrender.
