India Elections: BJP Apologizes For Past Mistakes

In order to woo voters ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections, Bharitiya Janta Party is increasing their efforts to turn the election into a fruitful result. On Tuesday, BJP chief Rajnath Singh addressed the Muslim community in New Delhi.

Speaking to the minority community, he said he regretted the past and appealed to the community to give them the opportunity to serve them.

“Please note that whenever, wherever, if there has been any mistake and shortcoming on our part, I assure you that we will apologise to you by bowing our heads,” said BJP Chief Rajnath Singh while addressing a gathering of Muslims. He added, “Try us once, if we don’t come up to your expectations, don’t look at us ever again.”

At the same time, Rajnath Singh lashed out at the congress for their propaganda tactics, calling it communalist. “Congress is playing vote bank politics to defame Modi and BJP. Try and understand this, they want Muslims to move away from the BJP.”

“The court has given a clean chit to Modi,” he said.

In his attack on the ruling congress party, the senior leader said that congress has the policy of “divide and rule.”

Singh said the BJP was not against Muslims and the community should not go by the propaganda against it. He asked them to vote for BJP this time for the sake of the nation.

This is Rajnath Singh’s second term as BJP President. He was originally a physics lecturer with connections to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, a nationalist organization. In his home state of Uttar Pradesh, he has been Chief Minister, and a Cabinet Minister in the National Democratic Alliance.
