5-Year Old Child Killed, Accused Man Lynched Suspecting Human Sacrifice In Assam Tea Garden
An angry mob hanged a man after a five-year old boy was beheaded at a tea garden in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Thursday.
Local police said the incident took place in the Tarajuli tea garden near Rongapara in northern Assam district Thursday evening.
The accused man, Nanu Mirdha, allegedly beheaded the boy at his house.
Local people were shocked and dragged the man from his house and lynched him. Many suspected the man initiated a human sacrifice after they found idols of gods, goddess and other religious materials near the place where the beheaded body of the child was found.
Sonitpur district SP Sanjukta Parashar said the incident followed a heated quarrel between the accused man and the father of the child.
Police recovered the weapon used to kill the child.
Police started an investigation into the incident.
