Westwood College of Hospitality, Chandigarh organized a workshop on the topic of Communication Skills here. Ms Hanne Clermont, CEO, Gateways Australia conducted the workshop for the teachers. Westwood College of Hospitality has tied up with Gateways Australia for its India operations to further train teachers in English for academic purposes. Around 260 teachers from various colleges and schools of the region attended the workshop.
Ms. Hanne Clermont enlightened about the Language Programmes like Academic English, Academic study skills, learning skills, micro teaching and communication skills. She told the audience that “the Gateways Australia has over 500 hours of interactive Academic English and Study skills resources online EAP Training and Resource License Package. The course involves skills and study materials for Senior Secondary Schools, Under Graduate Colleges and Universities.”
Ms. Suneet Mann, Director, Gateways India also addressed the gathering. She said that Indian students face language problems in foreign lands, which can be overcome by proper training and guidance. The three months long English Communication Skills programme of Gateways India will benefit the Indian students who have dreams of joining some foreign college or who want to work in foreign countries.
Mr. Ravinder Paul and Suneet Inder Paul of Gateways India were also present at the workshop. In the end of the Seminar queries session was jointly answered by Ms. Suneet Mann and Ms Hanne Clermont. The Management of the College thanked the delegates of Gateways and the participants of the workshop.
