Assam Observes Fire Service Week

Assam Fire and Emergency Service Department will observe Fire Service Day on April 14 to pay homage to the brave fire fighters of the country who sacrificed their lives in rendering service to the nation.

The department will observe “Fire Service Week 2013” from April 14 to 20 by organising various activities and awareness programme.

As a part of the Fire Service Week, on April 14 there will be hosting of the flag, paying homage to the fire personnel by laying a wreath on the Swahid Bedi and road procession.

Fire awareness programme will be organised throughout all the Fire and Emergency Service Stations of the state.

As part of the programme, various competitions for students will be held on April 20, such as spot drawing competition, essay competition for lower section from Class VII to Class XII and higher sections comprising of students from TDC First Year to University level.

Winners of the spot drawing competition will be awarded a cash prizes of Rupees One thousand, Seven hundred and fifty and Five hundred as first prize, second prize and third prize respectively.

Meanwhile, winners of the essay competition of Lower Section will be awarded with cash prizes of Rupees Three thousand, Two thousand and One thousand and winners of Higher Section will be awarded Rupees Five thousand, three thousand and two thousand as first prize, second prize and third prize respectively.
