Anti-talk faction group of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) is ready for dialogue with Union government. It will be held in a third country and the issue of Assam’s sovereignty must be discussed.
The banned organization had taken the decision during its five day long central executive meeting which was held on April 2.
In a statement sent to media houses, the chairman of the outfit group Dr Abhijit Asom said ULFA will participate in talks with Union government about the issue of Assam’s sovereignty and it must be held in a third country in the presence of representatives of United Nations (UN).
The banned organization also changed the name of the organization and it would be known as United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) or ULFA (I).
The central executive of ULFA has appointed C-in-C Paresh Asom as new vice chairman along with his earlier position of the organization and Jiban Asom as its finance secretary.
