There are record numbers of foreclosures. The Middle East is exploding with violence. The dollar is at its weakest point in many years. Unemployment is at its worst since the depression. Political correctness threatens to crush anyone that has the audacity to challenge the status quo. But the Believe Again Project seeks to bring people together for good works.
It seems we live in “Interesting Times.”
Amidst all of this chaos, many people begin to feel helpless and wonder what can be done to deal with these issues. It seems the very people we chose to lead us through this chaos are in the midst of their own identity crisis.
Politicians Place Blame
The Democrats and the Republicans seem to spend more time pointing fingers at each other then actually offering viable solutions, and hatred and fear continue to splinter us as a people.
Looking For Answers
When Carl Newman looked around for answers, for someone to stand as a beacon of light and lead us out of this darkness, he found such a man, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
There can be no denying that during one of the country’s “darkest hours,” Dr. King stood strong against the darkness. His love and courage knew no boundaries.
His teachings and the solutions he offered are as relevant today as they ever were when he lead marches to achieve racial equality.
His teachings were both elegant and powerful.
When ANYONE is diminished, we are ALL diminished.
You cannot fight darkness with darkness, you only create more darkness. You must fight darkness with light.
You cannot fight hatred with hatred, you only grow more hatred. You must fight hatred with love.
And, finally, striving for greatness is a wonderful thing, as long as that greatness is measured in your efforts to aid your fellow man. Given this definition of greatness, EVERYONE can reach for and achieve it.
Creating The Believe Again Project
With this in mind, Carl Newman created The Believe Again Project, and a web site, www.thebelieveagainproject.com, to achieve three main goals.
1. To help three organizations, The King Center, Covenant House, and Project 50/50, to raise money through the sale of a CD/DVD set, Believe Again – An American Trilogy
2. To give people the opportunity to donate directly to any of the organizations. There is an information page and a direct link for each organization at www.thebelieveagainproject.com.
3. To inspire people with a CD/DVD tribute to Dr. King that is a reminder that there ARE beacons of light like Dr. King, men and women. Beacons we can seek out, learn from and ultimately emulate.

A Work in Progress
The Believe Again Project is a work in progress. The decision to create a DVD created a new set of challenges. Carl Newman told NewsBlaze, “We have the rights to all the music, lyrics, and the speech excerpts, and the website needs some TLC. Any help, advice, comments or communications are greatly appreciated.”
If you have a few minutes, visit the site and look to see what the three organizations are about. There is an embedded DVD and you could help yourself and the organizations by purchasing the CD/DVD set, donating directly to our organizations, or both.
Carl Newman says that most importantly, he wants you to be inspired and seek greatness. Reach out to those you know need help. Work with any of the many great organizations striving to make a positive difference.
Become a beacon and begin to Believe Again in the Believe Again Project.
