One More Victory for Hamas

Hamas rules the Gaza Strip, a territory on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea that borders Egypt on the southwest for 11 kilometers and Israel on the east and north, along a 51 km border. This week, we saw one more victory for Hamas.

Hamas’ only reason for existence is to fight Israel until it destroys the Jewish State.

Today, after weeks of Hamas terrorizing Israel and Israel retaliating with bombing and blowing up buildings in Gaza, truce with the Hamas terror group appears to hold after a final two days of extensive fighting.

These past 2 months, Hamas, the terrorist gang ruling Gaza, did what it does best, every 2-4 years. It has put thousands of Israelis in bomb shelters, dropped arson balloons and kites on Israel’s land. The incendiary devices burned land and caused millions of dollars in damage. They burned thousands of acres of Israeli agricultural land and nature reserves. The terrorists fired hundreds of rockets into Israel and got thousands of Israelis all shaken up, and then, … a truce – cease fire. Until next time, that is … when Hamas shows its stars all over again.

BUT, Hamas is not really in full ceasefire-truce mode: Because amid a possible lull in fighting, Hamas says the Gazans will resume border protests, protests that are violent and endangering life. They give Hamas a calculated PR venture that is working in favor of Hamas only!

What to Say About That?

First, anytime Israel agrees to a truce with Hamas, rather than being a solution that will put an end to Hamas and its war on Israel, it is one more capitulation to Hamas. No lip service that Israel dealt Hamas a ‘severe blow’ in its Gaza airstrikes will convince me that this time Israel delivered a real blow to Hamas; it did not. All the lip service the government of Israel uses to tell us “this one is the last one” is pathetic. If it was not so pathetic, it would be a sick joke.

A few months will pass and Hamas will be back on its feet and fully recovered and back to its business of attacking Israel.

Israel, enough of the lies to yourselves!

A truce without having the bodies of Shaul Oron and Had Goldin back home with their families is a double capitulation.

Second, I say what others say, another Gaza truce is a mistake. There must be a long term solution: the world’s effort to help transfer all the 2Million Gaza population out of Gaza, to be relocated in other neighboring countries, a full Israeli military operation and the takeover of Gaza Strip, the total eradication of Hamas and then Gaza to become part of sovereign Israel. No other solution should be considered.

Since it took control over the Gaza Strip, in 2007, Hamas has been calling all the shots in its conflict with Israel. The terrorist group calls the shots when the last agreed-on ceasefire ends and it attacks Israel on a whim. Last time, in 2014, it had over 1 Million Israelis hiding in shelters for many days while Israel’s military had its hands tied behind its back with limited ability to bring Hamas to unconditional surrender. This is because long ago Hamas won the public diplomacy war against Israel.

Hamas dictates the tune to which Israel dances, and dances and dances! So this is just one more victory for Hamas.
