Who is Hamas? Hamas Covenant Main Points
Hamas Charter
Hamas’ revised Document of General Principles and Policies was issued in 2017. A translation of Hamas’ 1988 original charter’s excerpts is here.
Hamas’ Islamic Resistance Movement Covenant, comprising 36 separate articles, was issued on August 18, 1988, also known as HAMAS, an extremist fundamentalist Islamic organization operating in Gaza, Judea, Samaria and other tentacles.
Hamas’ manifesto promotes its basic goal which is to destroy the State of Israel through Jihad (Islamic Holy War).
HAMAS strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of the land of Israel – which Hamas addresses as “Palestine.” For Hamas, Israel is an Islamic Waqf [holy possession] land “which will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”
Liberation of “Palestine” is an individual duty for every Muslim wherever he may be.
Hamas calls to Jihad: “The day the enemies [Israel] usurp part of Moslem land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Muslim. Ranks will close, fighters joining other fighters, and masses everywhere in the Islamic world will come forward in response to the call of duty, loudly proclaiming: ‘Hail to Jihad,’ the invaders vanquished and Allah’s victory comes about.”
There is no solution for the [non-existent] Palestinian problem except by Jihad.
Condemnation of the Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty
Through the treacherous Camp David Peace Treaty Agreement between Israel and Egypt, to a great extent, Egypt has been removed from the circle of jihad struggle. The Zionists – Israelis – are trying to draw other Arab countries into similar agreements in order to bring them outside the circle of struggle. For Hamas it means high treason and being cursed.
Anti-Semitic Incitement
The infamous Hamas charter statement: “The Day of Judgment will not come about until Muslims fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: ‘O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.” (Article 7)
“Through their scheming, the enemies – Israel – have accumulated huge and influential material wealth. With their money, they took control of the world media… With their money they stirred revolutions in various parts of the globe… They stood behind the French, the Communist Revolutions and most of the revolutions we hear about… With their money they formed secret organizations – such as the Freemasons, Rotary Club and the Lions – which are spreading around the world, in order to destroy societies and carry out Zionist interests… They stood behind World War I and formed the League of Nations through which they could rule the world. They were behind World War II, through which they made huge financial gains… There is no war going on anywhere without them [JEWS] having their finger in it.” (Article 22)
Zionism Scheming
“Zionism scheming has no end, and after Palestine [the land of Israel], they will covet expansion from the Nile to the Euphrates River [Biblical prophecy]. Their expansion scheme has been laid out in the ‘Protocols of the Elders of Zion*.” (Article 32)
*The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, published in Imperial Russia in 1903, largely plagiarized from several earlier sources, is a fabricated text purporting to detail a Jewish plot for global domination. It was translated into multiple languages, and disseminated internationally in the early part of the 20th century and played a key part in popularizing belief in an international Jewish conspiracy.
“HAMAS regards itself the spearhead and the vanguard of the struggle against the World Zionism circle… Islamic groups all over the Arab world should also do the same.” (Article 32)
Gaza’s Jewish History
Gaza is mentioned in the Bible as the place where Samson was imprisoned, where he met Delilah and found his death. According to biblical accounts, Gaza fell to Israelite rule during King David’s reign in the early 11th century BCE.
The history of the Jews in Gaza City was intermittent, and extended until the 1929 British Mandate for Palestine after murderous Arab riots in the land and the 1948-49 Israel Independence War against five Arab nations.
For nearly 300 years, during the Middle Ages and until Gaza and its proximate cities were destroyed by the Crusaders, in the 12th century, the area of Gaza, including the city of Rafah had a thriving Jewish community. Though characterized by periods of coexistence, economic challenges, and occasional tensions with other communities, the community members’ corresponding letters, found in the Cairo Genizah, described the Gaza Jewish community as “flourishing presence.”
During the Ottoman period – which spanned from the late 13th century to the early 20th century – in the 17th century, Gaza became a center for Jewish mysticism and the birthplace of the modern Jewish Messianic movement.
As I told in my Palaestina story, in the 1600s there were no Arab-named towns in the Land of Israel, only Jewish named towns. If the Arabs claim to have long history in the area, how is it possible?
In early 1799, as Napoleon led an army the Jewish flight marked the temporary end of a Jewish presence in Gaza. It is not entirely clear when Jews returned to Gaza in the 19th century.
The 1929 Arab riots that raged in the land of Israel and split to the Jews in Gaza who were evacuated and thus Gaza’s Jewish community ended.
Documents discovered in the Department of the National Library of Israel Archives shed new light on the forgotten Gaza Jewish community’s final days, as well as the Jews who lived in and visited the city even after the community no longer officially existed.
Amazing archeological evidence of Jews living in Gaza for centuries:
The Israeli Jewish communities – Gush Katif – established in the Gaza Strip post the 1967 Six Day War, were unilaterally evacuated in 2005 by the government of Israel. This left the Strip in the hands of the Arab party Fatah and then Hamas.
What is Known to be Gaza Strip?
Gaza Strip, or simply Gaza, is a 140 square mile (363 square km) territory along the Mediterranean Sea northeast of the Sinai Peninsula.
Gaza’s territorial boundaries were established while Gaza was controlled by Egypt at the conclusion of the 1948-49 Arab–Israel war.
Many Arabs who escaped the land of Israel during the 1948-49 Arab war with Israel settled in the Gaza Strip which ended up under Egypt’s control after the war ended; their descendants and also Arabs from different Arab lands make up the Gaza Strip’s population today.
During the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel captured and occupied Gaza till the mid-1990s Oslo Accords when the Palestinian Authority (PA) was established, with limited governing authority. The secular party Fatah ruled Gaza until it was defeated in 2006 elections by the Sunni Islamic Hamas. After the Battle of Gaza thereafter, Hamas took over the governance of Gaza and the permanent war with Israel began.
Yasser Arafat in Gaza
Yasser Arafat, ideologically an Arab nationalist, trained on communism ideology, was the Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the president of the Palestinian Authority (PA), and the founding member of the Fatah political party, which he led from 1959 until 2004.
From 1983 to 1993, Arafat was based in Tunisia. Israel permitted him to settle in Gaza City in order to promote self-governance. The negotiations that ended up with Israel and Arafat signing the 1993 Oslo Accords was his terrorizing Israel authorization signature.
Due to Arafat’s intifada – translates to “uprising” operations, in late 2004, after being confined by the Israeli army within his Ramallah compound for over two years, Arafat fell into a coma and died. However his terror against Israel’s legacy continued unabashedly.
Hamas since 2007
The Birth of Hamastan-Gaza Strip.
Arafat was not interested in establishing a “Palestinian” State. None of these Arabs who renamed themselves “Palestinians” want a state.
A Palestine of the Palestinians is a mirage. They have no case, no land, no country but a propaganda construct.
From Historical Point Of View Palestine Never Existed – Filmmaker Simcha Jacobovici:
The land these Arabs eye for a “Palestine” is the land of Israel, which belongs to the Jews from time immemorial.
Basically the Arab-Hamastinian-Gazans are displaced people gathered from many places, left over from other peoples, with no connection to the land other than a few years.
These Arabs who renamed themselves “Palestinians” have caused havoc in every country they set foot.
Hamas at the March 2025 War Resumption
Hamas uses the perfect camouflage. The Human Shield is Hamas’ trick of tricks.
The grand military parades and stages Hamas put together which we saw on TV screens during each release of Israeli hostages in exchange for incarcerated Arab terrorists have vanished. The brand new uniforms the Hamasniks wore disappeared with those wearing them.
The moment the war resumed, at the beginning of March 2025, Hamas militants who during the temporary ceasefire flooded Gaza’s streets, all dressed up and flaunting their weapons, simply vanished.
During the several hostage release proceedings, Hamas militants appeared as if they had achieved victory. They wanted to project strength much of it they lost, knowing all too well they were safe under the ceasefire agreement. They knew Israel would adhere to the ceasefire so long as there was a speck of hope that Hamas will release the remaining hostages – alive or dead.
What Has Changed?
This haughty display of [lack] of power has gone. The same coward- fighters who pretended to be brave strong warriors and victorious have fast blended into the Gaza civilian population.
The uniforms were off, the T-shirts were on. The weapons concealed and Hamas once again turned into “ordinary Gazans” left exposed to the consequences of war. The Hamas leaders crawl back into the hospitals, the mosques and the tunnels thinking they are safe from the destruction they brought upon the entire Gaza population who cheered them on.
The Pattern
Hamas’ pattern of conduct is to provoke, escalate, fire a rocket or fly a drone and then disappear as civilians among civilians. When the real price is due Hamas are in civilian camouflage hoping that the war machine will spare them. What they want, more than anything else, is an IDF response, followed by the deaths of women and children. They want to blame all deaths on Israel.
This terrible pattern of death and destruction has been going on for over a century and must come to an end.
There will never be peace until Hamas is destroyed.
Media Farce
The news is mostly about the “poor” Gazans and the occupation. There is hardly a word mentioning the October 7, 2023 atrocities Hamas perpetrated in southern Israel. There is no concern for the innocent Israelis who were kidnapped and held by Hamas as an ace card while being tortured, starved, and abused.
No mention who started this war, only fingers pointed at Israel defending its territory and people.
The words that should have been said since October 8, 2023 onward and every day since, “release all the hostages, alive and dead, every single one of them, and Hamas leadership must surrender, or one thousand of your people will die each day.”
The Hamas Hostages Trap
Israel has the capability to end this war quickly but it could not because the release of hostages is one of the war’s goals.
Under this terrible trap Israel has found itself fighting yet never undermined protecting enemy civilians.
Unlike any other civilized country fighting a war of survival, Israel has done everything it could to minimize civilian casualties in a war it did not start. But this extreme cautiousness is never enough for people who hate Jews.
How much longer though?
Will there be a point when Israelis realize they are done being the civilized ones?
War is tragic to those who do not wish to fight it yet are forced to do so.
The longer Hamas remains obstinate and holds to the hostages as if their life depends on these captured innocent people, the more Gazans will die.
This happens because Hamas and the people in Gaza are one and the same, filled with unhinged and irrational hate for Jews and Israel.
The kids born in Gaza simply suck on this milk of hate because they have no choice.
It is all very tragic, less for Israel that will achieve its war’s goals; more for the Gazans who have lost their homes, land and future and in all likelihood will be transferred to some new land where they may or may not become civilized.
Remember, so far there has not been a single story of one good Gazan who came forward to lead Israel to the hiding places of any hostages. This shows that either there is nobody innocent in Gaza or they are so repressed by Hamas that they dare not speak.
The consequences of this Swords of Iron War is on Hamas and all those who came before them.
