Hanukah Gelt From Hadassah

Each year, around the holiday of Hanukah, Haifa & Malka Women Groups of Hadassah Southern Californian hold their annual fundraising Hanukah Luncheon.

This year was no different only that this year this Hadassah chapter gave Israel a special Hanukah gift: the Hadassah anthem, Hadassah, For Peace, written by the French composer Dr. Alain Azizollah Salimpour, President of Hadassah Nice, France, who with his wife Ruth were present at the event. Lyrics by Homa Mirafshar and sang by Lili Keypour.

Alan the most talented violinist entertained the guests; the event was chaired by Katherine Kahen, Sheila Ghodsian and Soheila Soleimani and Lili Bosse, the Beverly Hills Vice Mayor, the only child of Holocaust surviving parents, was the keynote speaker.

The efforts these dedicated to the cause women is endless and to be admired. They recruited boutique women vendors to help them in their cause who filled two halls in the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel with the most lucrative merchandise, and from their selling proceeds they donate to the Hadassah cause.

For those who do not know yet, Hadassah is the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, a volunteer organization that inspires a passion for and commitment to its partnership with the land and people of Israel. It enhances the health of people worldwide, through its support of medical care and research at the Hadassah Medical Organization in Jerusalem. Hadassah empowers its members and supporters, as well as youth in Israel and around the world through opportunities for personal growth, education, advocacy and Jewish continuity.

The main story was Stewart Greenberg, a Miami, Florida attorney who had stage four melanoma and received a new lease on life when he was accepted into a personally tailored melanoma vaccine clinical trial at the Hadassah Medical Center, headed by Dr. Michal Lotem.

Stewart’s story is one example of the Hadassah helping hands and the magnitude of the Hadassah Medical Centre advanced medical treatments.

This emotional presentation by Stewart Greenberg speaks volume about the Hadassah Medical Center work:
