Secretary Clinton Congratulates Citizens of Denmark on Their Constitution Day

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton today congratulated the citizens of Denmark on their Constitution Day.

“On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am delighted to send best wishes to the people of Denmark on the occasion of your Constitution Day this June 5.”-Ms. Clinton

According to Ms. Clinton, the partnership between United States and Denmark is guided by mutual interests and respect, rooted in their long history of cooperation on so many issues around the world.

Ms. Clinton said both countries are working together to promote human rights and support the most vulnerable and the disadvantaged. She stressed that both countries are committed to the future peace and security of the world whether it’s standing up for civil society organizations in Egypt and Tunisia or helping protect Libyan citizens and increase Afghan women’s access to justice and education.

“As you celebrate this special day, know that the United States stands with you and we wish you continued peace and prosperity in the year to come.”-Ms. Clinton
