Iranian Resistance Leader Calls for Global Peace on Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve Maryam Rajavi calls for global peace

The Iranian Resistance’s President-elect Maryam Rajavi offered greetings to Christians in Iran and around the world, in a message marking Christmas.

Drawing on the fact that this year the birthday of Jesus Christ, the prophet of peace and freedom, coincides with that of the Prophet Mohammad, Mrs. Rajavi wished that 2016 would be a year of friendship and brotherhood among followers of all faiths and a year of unity and victory over Islamic extremism. She especially hoped to end the religious fascism ruling Iran, and its evil allies, who sow the seeds of hatred, violence, and sectarianism around the globe.

Pointing out that all divine religions have brought the same message of love, compassion and freedom, Mrs. Rajavi said: “Muslims and Christians can rely on their common values to stand up to those who pervert their religions through fanaticism, terror and extremism.”

Mrs. Rajavi reiterated that in contrast to what the extremists want, we should make our hope and faith in humanity deeper than ever.

We must incessantly strive to bring about a swift end to extremism in the Middle East and the entire world and to achieve religious freedom and equality. We must also strive to save Christians in Iran and the region from oppression and injustice and to obtain freedom of the whole Iranian nation and the countries of the region from religious dictatorship.

Mrs. Rajavi wished that the message of compassion, freedom and tolerance would engulf the region and the world would be relieved of tyranny and fundamentalism and have a new birth and revival.

She called on the world community to form an international front against the religious dictatorship in Iran and its proxies and militia in Syria and Iraq and to fight Islamic extremism, the enemy of true Muslims, Christians and all followers of other divine religions.
