US Engages in ‘Six Party Talks’ With North Korea

U.S. Special Envoy Clifford Hart today announced that the United States delegation engaged in a Six Party Talks with the North Korean delegations at Geneva, Switzerland. October 24, 2011

“I just wanted to let you know that the U.S. and DPRK delegations met this morning starting at 10 o’clock for about two hours. We had a coffee break. We had initial presentations of our respective positions. I think these were useful presentations. The delegations broke for lunch.” -Mr. Hart

Mr. Hart highlighted that the DPRK delegation will be returning soon to the U.S. Mission in Geneva. They will meet for another couple of hours. They will then break again.

“And then finally this evening the DPRK delegation will return to the U.S. Mission for dinner. The U.S. Delegation is led by Ambassador Stephen Bosworth, the U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy.” -Mr. Hart

He cited that the DPRK Delegation is of course led by First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-gwan. Ambassador Bosworth will host the evening’s dinner.
