But no matter which tour type you choose, you will learn a lot about the history of this great city. Some tours will allow you to enjoy a few culinary dishes and you will get to see where the locals like to hang out.
Take a Walk in Central Park
Before you leave this beautiful city, make sure that you take a walk in Central Park. This very large park is in the heart of the city and a favorite among tourists and natives alike. There are many different walking trails in the park, and you can also find some really yummy food at one of the street vendors’ carts. You should really try a hotdog if you are in the area which is a staple of the city.
Another thing that you can do while at the park is to visit the zoo. That’s right, there is a zoo in the park and it is home to many different animal species. The Central Park Zoo is truly an amazing place and you should definitely go there if you have the chance.
Ride the Subway
While the subway in New York has gotten a lot of negative press in the past, it’s really a safe way to get around. With a little common sense, you can navigate the city and the cost to ride the subway is really cheap.
One of the best parts of riding the subway is that it will get you around town quickly even when the roads are slowed down by rush hour traffic. There are many different stops and stations on the subway line, so make sure you familiarize yourself with the subway map before you leave home. This will help you find your way but if you get lost, don’t be afraid to ask a fellow passenger for directions.
