There is nothing like New York in the winter. This amazing world city plays host to many different holiday celebrations. The city has lots to offer guests and it is on many people’s bucket lists. Today, I’ll show more about this city and some of the things you can do here during the cooler months. So, for travelers not afraid of a little snow and who want to celebrate the holidays in the Big Apple, this is the right place.

Take a Magical Guided Tour of the City

A great way to see the city during the wintertime is by utilizing one of the city’s guided tours. These tours will not only allow you to see the city, you will also learn a lot about the history of the area. Your tour guide will be knowledgeable and they will often take you to popular areas. But some will take you to areas where the locals hang out, which are always fun places to visit. Also, you can choose to take a food tour that will let you sample some of the city’s most delectable dishes. A guided tour is a great way to learn the streets and avenues of the city which you can later navigate on your own with confidence.

See the Christmas Tree Lights at the Rockefeller Center

A fun and festive thing to do during the holidays in New York is to attend the Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Center. This is an amazing event that is perfect for all ages and it is something you will remember for the rest of your life! There are many people that come to this event so you should get there early so that you can get a good view of the tree. Even if you can’t make it to the tree lighting, you should go by and take a look that the tree if you are in the city. It truly is a beautiful tree and it will take your breath away!

Go Ice Skating

If you have never been ice skating before, then you should give it a try while you are in the city. During the winter months, there are quite a few places to go ice skating including the rink at Rockefeller Center. So, while you are visiting the Christmas tree here, why not put on some skates? If you don’t know how to ice skate, you can find a local tutor that will teach you for a small fee. Ice skating can be really fun and a great way to pass the time while on vacation.

New York in the wintertime is a beautiful place. The air is filled with excitement and there are tons of things to do!
