World Cup: England 0-0 Algeria, Shocking English Performance In Poor Draw

England were up against Algeria tonight in a game that everyone expected them to win, but no one could have predicted the outcome.

England were poor for the full ninety minutes, created few chances and scored no goals. Algeria actually played the better of the two for periods in the first half but they too were luckless.

A few shots were rattled off at goal in the first half from England but all of them went straight to the ‘keeper who was happy to collect. Rooney struggled to get into the game against the USA and he also struggled here, not even getting himself a chance.

Cappello, the England manager, was determined to play a 4-4-2 despite uproar from the fans and he also stuck with out-of-form striker Emile Heskey. Two bad decisions that helped to stop any flow in this game.

A poor game which ended 0-0 and means that England now need to beat Slovenia to qualify.
