With the sheer amount of rainfall in the area, the river Baru that runs alongside the village, dumped massive amounts of sediment in to the delta (river mouth) and formed a natural crescent shaped sand bar. With the addition of this new landscape characteristic, Dominical now has both a left and right break being thrown off the sand bar for surfers to enjoy. Combining that with the slightly larger swells at the river mouth and you’ve got some impressive surf conditions. The excitement was palatable.
