Saturday Premiership Action: The Fight For Fourth Continues

It was a busy Saturday in the Premiership with six games due to kickoff at 15:00 – with Chelsea set to play later in the afternoon.

In the battle for that illusive fourth spot, Liverpool, who looked to have thrown it away, increased their chances with a comfortable 2-0 win over Bolton. Kuyt began the scoring and Davies ended it when he put the ball in his own net. Aston Villa went four games without scoring before today but they too ended their rut with a 2-0 victory away to Fulham as Agbonlahor bagged a brace.

Tottenham also looked set for a win when they were leading 1-0 away to Birmingham in stoppage time, Spurs looked comfortable and almost had the points in the bag, but Birmingham never gave up and found a dramatic late equalizer when Ridgewell bundled the ball home.

In the battles at the bottom, Hull and Wolves fought out a 2-2 draw whilst West Ham held Blackburn to a 0-0 draw. Tim Cahill played the hero again for Everton when he scored the only goal of the game to give them a 1-0 away win against Wigan.

Chelsea play on Saturday afternoon with Arsenal and Man Utd squaring off on Sunday, a day which also sees Man City continue their fight for that fourth spot.
