Delaware Republican Leaders Hate Tea Party, Prefer Democrat Win

A recent op-ed by John Kays suggested Christine O’Donnell might be an Ace Up the Sleeves of Democrats. This may be true, but only because the state Republican leadership has its nose so far out of joint that they are actively working against her.

Mike Castle, who lost the unlosable primary to O’Donnell, apparently refuses to endorse her. O’Donnell is a Conservative Republican, backed by a majority of conservative voters 53.6 to 46.9.

State voters seem to have given the status quo republican leadership a much needed message, that THEY decide who will represent them, not the party machine.

Unfortunately, the Republican Party machine holds the purse strings and they may tell voters their opinion doesn’t count.

Christine O’Donnell is reported to have raised a lot of money from conservatives over the past 24-hours. Conservatives want to be sure O’Donnell has the support to beat Democrat Chris Coons, in the General Election.

This seems to say a lot about the Delaware State Republican leadership that conservatives should note when they consider making donations in future.

Tea Party Movement candidates like Christine O’Donnell have been giving incumbents a good thrashing lately, but it appears the party machine either doesn’t get it or doesn’t care what the people want, exactly why the Tea Parties are being so successful.

Castle now has a problem. If he doesn’t endorse Christine O’Donnell and she beats Coons, she wins, no thanks to him. If she loses, conservatives can blame Castle for the loss, pinning the RINO monniker on him. He is already marked as one of those politicians who didn’t listen to the people who put him in office to serve them.
