Lucky Virginia Couple Wins Lottery Three Times

In what seems too hard to believe, the couple from Portsmouth, Virginia collected a winner’s pot totaling $2,050,000 in three separate games within a span of just over two weeks.

On March 12, the couple casually picked up a Powerball ticket and won $1 million.

Later in the month, on March 26, Mr. Spencer decided to play the Virginia Lottery’s Pick 4 game, purchasing several game tickets. He ended up collecting a whopping $50,000 on 10 winning tickets.

The next day, soon after dropping off his wife at an appointment, Mr. Spencer decided to purchase a Virginia Lottery Scratcher ticket called the “$100 Million Extravaganza.” Guess what? He won the $1 million prize, which was one of four that are given out in the game.

After the last winning, Mr. Spencer, excited and in awe, announced to his wife, “Baby, we did it again!”

The Powerball online winners were announced on Wednesday, March 12 at 10:59 p.m., with the numbers: 14, 15, 28, 37, 54, and the red Powerball number of 10. The jackpot was $60 million, which no one won.

The Spencers, however, matched five of the six white ball numbers to land $1 million. The Powerball ticket was purchased at Barber’s Tire & Auto, in Norfolk as well, and was the winning that set things in motion.

Mr. Spencer won the $50,000 by choosing precisely the right set of four matching numbers when the combination of 6-6-6-6 was drawn on March 26 for the Pick 4 day drawing. This number combination is popular and the Lottery usually pays out better when it’s chosen.

Mr. Spencer happened to choose that very combination on 10 tickets that day. Each winning Pick 4 ticket earns the player $5,000, so for the Spencers, that meant a nice $50 Grand.

The $1 million winning from the $100 Million Extravaganza is an annuity. This gave the Spencers the choice of collecting $1 million over 30 years or taking a lump sum prize of $681,000 before taxes. The couple opted for the cash option.

The winning Extravaganza ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven store located in Norfolk, Virginia. The Lottery awarded this store with a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The $100 Million Extravaganza consists of prizes that range from $20 to $4 million. The second largest prize is the $1 million payout, one of which the Spencers won. The game offers a total of $100 million in total prizes. With the Spencers claiming just one of the $1 million of the pot, three other $1 million winners are expected to come forth and claim.

The NY Daily News reports that, despite the multiple winning within a month, the couple has no plans to stop playing the Lottery. “We’re not finished yet,” said Mr. Spencer.

No doubt, the Spencers have seen their fair share of attention in the past two days, which should prepare them for more as friend and family congratulate and celebrate alongside the newfound millionaires.
