City of Folsom Upgrades Traders Lane Parking Lot

The Traders Lane parking lot in Folsom’s Historic District is to receive pavement maintenance Tuesday October 14th, 2008, with the entire parking lot overlaid with asphalt.

To improve pedestrian and driver safety, the parking lot entrance on Wool Street is to be reconfigured. The main safety goals with this reconfiguration are to reduce the speed of cars entering the lot and to provide a designated entrance.

Pedestrian traffic along Wool Street and the parking lot will also be improved by adding a kerb and relocating the existing granite boulders to designate a pedestrian path.

Construction commences at 5am, Tuesday October 14th, 2008 and is expected to complete in one day, with the parking lot reopening Wednesday October 15th, 2008, at 7:00 AM.

While the Traders Lane parking lot is closed, the City asked that business employees and patrons to park on the street or in the parking structure located at the corner of Leidesdorff and Reading Streets.

To minimize the disruption to local business in the area, all day parking in some time restricted parking areas will be allowed.

If you have any questions during construction, call Larry Curtis, City of Folsom – Public Works Inspector at 916-220-3032.
