Just where is Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi?
According to Rep. Richard Hudson (R- NC) the mysterious “Saudi Person of Interest” initially fingered by investigators as a suspect in the planning in the Boston Marathon bombing several weeks ago, will remain in the United States. This news comes as commentators such as Glenn Beck are concerned that Ali Alharbi holds the key to discovering how the most devastating terrorist attack on the American homeland occurred.
“That individual will not be deported” Hudson said.
Hudson’s response came in a Tuesday noontime Heritage Foundation Bloggers Briefing in Washington from a query from Newsblaze. His response is significant as Hudson was an original signatory, along with seven other congressmen on April 18th, of a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
In that letter, members of congress asked “What is the basis of the deportation of the individual in question…? What conditions have been set on his deportation? Has the individual been placed on the no fly list?”
The North Carolina Republican began his response to Newsblaze by confirming “Yes I signed the letter. We have not gotten a formal response.”
Soon after, Congressman Hudson then wanted to remark off the record in the case, which prompted Heritage Foundation Director of media Rob Bluey to remark “there is a camera in the room,” as the Think Tank’s weekly event for online journalists is traditionally an on-the-record event. Hudson’s reluctance to go public may be as a result of the classified nature of the Ali Aharbi case, and requests for top secret briefings.
Once it was established how reporters were covering the event, Hudson went further by saying “We’re not going to stop asking questions. We’re continuing to dig.”
But as to Ali Alharbi’s status, Hudson made clear “that individual will not be deported.”
Hudson however cautioned “There’s a lot of information out there that isn’t true” about the Ali Alharbi case. Despite that, the first term Congressman reiterated soon after “We are continuing to dig.”
