Lt. Gen. Michael Tucker, First Army commander, was officially recognized as the new First Army senior enlisted leader during a change of responsibility ceremony held Friday at the Rock Island Arsenal’s Heritage Hall.
Command Sgt. Maj. Sam Young officially received the sword from First Army commander, Lt. Gen. Michael Tucker.
The handover ceremony took place at the Rock Island Arsenal’s Heritage Hall. Among those present at the ceremony were Command Sgt. Maj. Jesse Andrews, East Moline, Illinois Mayor John Thodos and Moline, Illinois Mayor Scott Raes, Davenport, Iowa Mayor Bill Gluba, Sgt. 1st Class Leslie Ceasor, and Staff Sgt. Tashanna Thomas.
Command Sgt. Maj. Sam Young was accompanied by his wife Rhonda and daughter Chelsea.
