Nursing Home Robbed By Armed Clown

Hurricane West Virginia: A man with a Spanish accent wearing a clown mask, scrubs, and rubber shoes broke into the Genesis Healthcare, Teays Valley Nursing and Rehab Center along North Poplar Fork Road Wednesday morning around 1AM.

The suspect broke a window out of a bathroom and entered. He pulled a gun on a nurse in the nursing home ordering her to get on the ground.

During an interview with WSAZ, a local television station, a nurse, Roger Copley stated: “There’s alarms on the doors and you have to have a code to get in, the alarms were activated, I guess.”

Dozens of pills were taken during the robbery.

As of right now, there are no suspects.

Something that took me by surprise is that the nurse in the interview said: “The alarms were activated, I guess.” First off, this is why most big businesses have a PR department and will make an official statement to the public instead of letting employees speak to the media. If I had a family member in this facility, I would be calling them asking why their employees are not sure if the alarms were activated.

As scary as this situation was for everyone involved, it is pretty funny. How often do you hear about a nursing home being robbed by a clown with a Spanish accent? So be on the lookout for a payaso!
