Whys and Wherefores

Everyone knows that there are:

  • 12 months in a year, 12 inches in a foot, 12 hours of daylight, and 12 eggs in a dozen.
  • 11 players on a football team, a soccer team, and a rugby team.
  • 10 Commandments, 10 fingers and 10 toes on a human being, and 10 cents in a dime.
  • 9 Beatitudes and 9 players on a baseball team.
  • 8 notes in an octave, 8 legs on a spider, and 8 planets in our Solar System – now.
  • 7 days in a week, 7 dwarfs, and 7 oceans sometimes called seas
  • 6 legs on an insect and 6 sides to a die
  • 5 humans senses, 5 fingers on a hand, and 5 pennies in a nickel
  • 4 forces in nature (strong, weak, electromagnetic, and gravity) and if you are lucky, 4 leaves on a clover.
  • 3 states of matter (gas, liquid, and solid), 3 sides on a triangle, and 3 blind mice.
  • 2 genders, 2 poles, and 2 arms, hands, thumbs, eyes, ears, legs and feet on a normal human
  • AND 1 universe

BUT no one knows for sure:

    Who created the universe?

    Why the universe was created?

    When it was created?

    How long it took?

What is it made of? and

What are humans supposed to do with it or in it?

Unfortunately, no one has come up with convincing answers to those six questions to satisfy the curious like me!
