Why Democrats Despise Mormons

From Washington Post July 16, 2014,

Among Democrats and Democratic-leaning Americans, the most unpopular religion is … wait for it … Mormonism!

Why is the Mormon Religion so unpopular with Democrats? For the Mormons it is no surprise they are not liked by Democrats even though there are many Democrats who are practicing Mormons. It isn’t that fact they support a prophet or because they don’t drink coffee, tea, don’t smoke, or don’t drink alcohol either.

Most Mormons go to church regularly, visit the ill, do home teaching, meaning visit others in their home to be friends, or they serve vigorously in church callings. It isn’t what they do or believe that makes Democrats so irritated – it is what they don’t do and don’t believe.

Family Is First

The Mormons believe the Family is the basic unit of any society. A family is defined as a man and a woman in holy matrimony bringing children into the world and raising them to be God fearing and civil people.

They do not believe in abortion and support causes to illuminate it. They hold sacred vows made in the Temple to live a certain type of life. They believe in the death penalty for heinous crimes of murder. They believe in Eternal Marriage and do work in their God’s Temple for the kindred dead so they too may enjoy their eternal rewards.

They live long and are married only as man and woman. They don’t believe in divorce and do all they can to avoid it. They have as part of their doctrine a belief of living the Laws of their land. Mormons believe the Constitution is an inspired Constitution meant for this nation to live by and to be supported by the people.

Most Mormons Are Frugal People

The men in their church hold the Priesthood, not women. Men in rural areas or even some in cities go hunting and fishing. They believe in being prepared and most have a food storage program. They share their beliefs with others and are not ashamed of whom they are. They pay tithing of 10% to their church.

They consider the family the main source of love, support, discipline, prayer, and correct education. Home is where it all starts, not in school or pre-school class rooms taught or subscribed by liberal educators. Mormons for the most part do not believe in a large government and the controls a large government develops that adds taxes to control its cravings.

In the minds of good Mormons, the perfect government is a theocracy not a democracy. God is the King not man, and that day will come. These are the reasons why the Democrats in reality despise Mormons. Mormons believe and have faith to accomplish what they believe. They know their God and worship him with heart, mind, and spirit.

I’m a Mormon and these may not be the exact views of the church authorities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am just another Mormon and I live and Love God as much as anyone can. If people despise me for my beliefs I feel sorry for them and I hate or despise no man of the flesh.
