The Iranian People Thank Watergate Journalist, Carl Bernstein

The recent McCarthyism character slander provoked by pro-Iranian pundits against the relentless reporter, Carl Bernstein, who dared the unthinkable for justice and not for fame, reminded me of a famous quote:

“Neither let us be slandered from our duty by false accusations against us, nor frightened from it by menaces of destruction … nor of dungeons to ourselves. Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it.”

– Abraham Lincoln

It is indignation to witness original daring journalism “slaughtered” by journalistic vandalism and hero bashers.

If we learned of Goebbels and the Nazi propagandists’ colossal purge of human conscience and dignity during the 1940s, we know that succumbing to such propaganda bravado, can be devious and poisonous for today’s Gale for Democratic change.

I have experienced enormous pain, triumph and sacrifice in the struggle to sustain the truth about the animosity of the clerical fascists in Iran. It is an overstatement to say that “the truth” has come at a high price for the Iranian opposition facing the medieval beast in Iran.

120 000 activists, journalists, athletes, scholars, men, women and children have all experience the same challenge: Do we stand with truth and justice in the face of temptations or side with the mullahs in their quest to establish a medieval empire throughout the world?

120,000 voiced “resistance” against tyranny and hypocrisy and were tagged as ‘terrorists.’ They etched the meaning of heroism in new heights of valour that we see echoed in today’s gales for Democracy in Syria and other regions:

Never succumb to Tyranny

In the great wave of persecution and terror that continues to-date, thousands of people were accused of being ‘Communists or communist sympathizers,’ ‘anti-gods’ and terrorists by the clerical regime. They became the subject of aggressive investigations, arrest and later massacres.

The victims were ‘accused’ in a wave of articles that followed Khomeini’s speech. The falsifications were given credence despite inconclusive or questionable evidence, and the level of the threat posed by the person’s real or supposed associations or beliefs was often greatly exaggerated. The main question 30 000 victims of mass executions faced in kangaroo courts that only took five minutes was; “do you support the MEK?”

Determining the answer to this question for some had similar consequence as the “Judas kiss” for thousands of activists.*1

The choice to stand with Justice and denounce tyranny may have taken seconds to reach for 30 000 political prisoners who were executed as the consequence of their choice, but that choice established a historic landmark in the history of mankind in search for “rights and justice.”

The basic rights manipulated in the Human rights charter cannot be stained by mud-slinging those who defend them.

Tagging those who stand for the truth and justice is a cowardice act. Inflicting ‘terrorism’ under the guise of ‘journalism’ is morally wrong.

Walking In The Footsteps Of Judas

Chiming with Iranian Intelligence 35 year-long motto that misrepresents the PMOI/MEK as terrorists and those who support the voice of democracy as their ‘payrolls’ is like walking in the footsteps of ‘Judas’ and being manhandled by the worst religious fascism in current history.

The 7 court ruling in Europe and the last in France have ruled such accusations as “” perverse.” The French Judge, Mr.Trevidic has gone further than that and recognized; “A Law of a Democratic country, on terrorism, cannot have the intention to obstruct the constitutional right of resistance against oppression.”

Activism of the PMOI(MEK) reflect the natural and inalienable right to resist tyranny, as stated in section 2 of the Declaration of Human Rights, and as correctly pointed out by former Mayor of New York, Rudii Giuliani; “How can it be terrorism to support Freedom of Religion, freedom for women, a free election, a rule of Law and nuclear-free Iran?!”

MEK Is Not A Terrorist Organization

MEK (PMOI) is not a terrorist organization. It is a voice and a call for freedom – Tom Ridge, first U.S. Homeland Security Secretary 2.

WE, the Iranian people, have seen 150 years of smear campaign by tyrants against its Freedom fighters and dissidents. We have always appreciated those individuals who have embodied the true values of their homeland and stood by us during our worst movements.

The long line of individuals from countries worldwide, standing with the Iranian resistance (MEK) in its plight for Freedom has convinced the clerical regime and its apologists of the vital role the MEK plays in Iran and the region.

Dedication and commitment towards democracy, justice, and law in the contemporary world has been a characteristic of individuals who are now protecting genuine values of their American Pride Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson by standing with the Iranian resistance.

Heroes Stand For Justice

Heroes are made by the decisions they make in standing by ‘justice’ and ‘human rights’ despite hell-bent pressure and mediated vandalism against their moral principles.

‘Articles’ written by Justin Elliot, Greenwald and other seemingly pro-Iran pundits in the mudsling against pro-democracy US supporters of the MEK can best be described as :

“A half-truth is the most cowardly of lies.”

Notes:

1 – The Latin word traitor, which means “one who delivers,” is often equated with Judas. Judas Iscariot, betrayed Jesus, who suffered the worst torments of all. His treachery was considered so notorious that his name has long been synonymous with traitor, a fate he shares with Benedict Arnold, Marcus Junius Brutus (who too is depicted in Dante’s Inferno, suffering the same fate as Judas along with Cassius Longinus), and Vidkun Quisling. Indeed, the etymology of the word traitor originates with Judas’ handing over of Jesus to the Roman authorities.

Mahin Saremi is a former political prisoner who escaped prison in March 2011 and came abroad in April. Her husband Ali Saremi was a very well known political prisoner with 27 years of prison under the present regime. Mahin could have also been under torture with charges of Moahrbeh (waging war against god) if she had not escaped.
