I have read and heard from various people their ideas on the subject of why some men are good and others are so evil. I know it would be easier for us to understand if men were made either good or evil but that would mean that man would be predestined to every aspect of life. There are several fundmentals of life that illustrate men are not predestined to lives they cannot control.
The idea of equality is not that every person is built with the same strength, intelligence and abilities because we can see we are very different. It would be terrible if we had the same of everything because if that were so, not many of us would be necessary.. Too much of same thing can certainly lead to boring.
The idea that God created some men to be good and others to be evil is a false concept. This would then be predestination, simply meaning, by nature there would be nothing praise worthy in virtue (doing good) and then evil (doing bad) could not do anything but evil. This would negate the purpose of agency and the need for a person to change or repent.
Man is the only creature who walks the earth and has agency, which is the right of choice. If choice wasn’t our gift then predestination would certainly be an animal’s instinct. Man has the right to chose good over evil and has the ability to know the difference between good and evil. The excuse of, I didn’t know better, can only apply to mental illness or in some cases mental deficient’s.
Most people know right from wrong, good from bad, and evil from righteous. We mostly chose how we want to live, think, and act in this life. We are indeed men and women of agency and when one has agency one must account for their choices.
We in essence become as we want to become and are who we want to be. There is only a few exceptions when people can say I had no choice. Those exceptions I will not engage at this point because it can lead people to seek for excuses for their decisions and choices.
To chose is to take time and consider your options. Then make a chocie based upon right and not wrong.
The best way to look at life is to understand what agency really includes and take an inventory on whom you are and why you are what you have become.
If you don’t like what you have become then change. It is called repentance. No one is exempt from changing where you are in life and becoming a better person. The big problem in this life is to know who you are and what you can become.
A person has no idea who they are, they will wonder through life disassociated with their true self. Bad people for the most part chose to be bad. Good people are the same, they chose to be good.
No one was created to be bad or good. The old saying we are what we eat. Well we are what we desire to become, good or bad..
