Crossfire War – Iran Continues to Destabilize Northern Kurdish Iraq

Crossfire War – TEHRAN – ANKARA – RIYADH WATCH – West Asia Theatre: Tehran – Ankara – Riyadh – Damascus – Amman – Baghdad/London – Washington; Explosions Continue to Target and Destabilize Northern Kurdish Iraq Before Turkey’s Invasion – Mortar Fire – Car Bombs in Baghdad

Night Watch: KIRKUK – Tehran’s efforts to attack and destabilize northern Kurdish Iraq before Turkey’s invasion continue. A massive truck bomb in Kirkuk’s Tabaqchali neighborhood killed at least 80 people and wounded 170. Virtually, every shop in the immediate neighborhood was damaged. The main target seems to have been the headquarters of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the political organization of Iraq President Jalal Talabani. Though Tehran may have some use for Talabani, Iran-Turkey definitely, have no use for any organized Kurdish institution, political or economic. The attack is also a warning to Washington of the futility of arming the Kurds in a hopeless last stand tactic of desperately trying to find some armed group somewhere in Iraq that is dependable. There were also a combination of car bombs and mortar fire in Baghdad. The Pentagon has launched Operation Marne Avalanche in south Baghdad, which is intended to prevent the constant shipment of weapons into the capital. The weapons obviously come from Iran and based on an article from the Los Angeles Times most of the suicide bombers and fighters have been coming from Saudi Arabia. The House of Saud has contributed more Islamic fighters to attack the lost alliance of London-Washington than any other country. The article quoted a senior U. S. military official speaking on condition of anonymity. He stated 45% of all the foreign fighters come from Saudi Arabia, by far the largest single amount from any nation in the region. Since 15 of the 19 were from Saudi Arabia in the 9-11 attack that should not be surprising. [TURKISHPRESS]
