Lebron James Joins Lakers in $158 Million Deal

Lebron James On the Move Once Again!

Lebron James, one of the greatest basketball players in the NBA is saying goodbye to Cavaliers fans as he is set to join the Los Angeles Lakers in a staggering $154 million deal over the next four years.

This big news was confirmed by James’ agents at Klutch Sports on Sunday and was later confirmed by the basketball superstar himself in his Instagram account.

The three-time NBA champion bid goodbye to Cavaliers fans by posting a picture of Cleveland’s championship parade in 2016 with the caption: “Thank you Northeast Ohio for an incredible 4 seasons. This will always be home.”

Fans of Lebron James have been waiting for this announcement. After failing to grab the NBA final championship crown this year, many have speculated on the possibility for him to leave the Cavaliers because he is a free agent this year.

Finally, as avid fans waited with anticipation for his decision to stay in Cavaliers or to look for another team, Lebron James made the decision and chose to switch teams for the third time in his career.

The Greatest of All Time

I am not fond of basketball for in the first place I don’t know how it is played. But this is not true in my case now. Through the years, especially when I had a hard time convincing the males in the house to change the NBA channel to some foodie programs on our cable TV, I had no choice but to watch. Then, I heard about Lebron James and my husband, Robert is a true-blooded Lebron James fan.

For me, Lebron James joins the other greatest NBA players including Michael Jordan who made indelible marks in NBA history. Lebron James became a hero when he made history in 2016. The NBA star delivered the first championship to the sports-obsessed city of Cleveland in 52 years and helped the Cavaliers become the first team in NBA Finals history to rally from a 3-1 series deficit to win it all. That was obviously a stellar performance from Lebron James that made hype all over the world.

Why he is great? LeBron James has won the MVP award with the Cavaliers (2) and the Heat (2). No athlete in the history of the NBA, NFL, NHL or MLB has won an MVP award with three teams.

Aside from that, Lebron James’ humble beginnings has dazzled people around the world. It inspires young people to go after what they are passionate about and make their mark on it.

In the Philippines, Lebron James is a big name especially as Filipinos love basketball. Young and old, women or girls, know Lebron James. Like all of them, I am fascinated by the life story of Lebron James, whether outside or inside the court.
