The 35th Annual People Choice Awards

Can we rock, can we make people laugh, can we heal the sick, and can we dance? Yes, we can!

And that has happened last night at the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards inside the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles hosted by Queen Latifiah, whose film, “The Secret Life of Bees” was chosen as both Favorite Movie Drama and Independent Movie. The votes for favorite actors/actresses of film and television, artists, and performers were by the people themeselves.

But the event definitely belonged to “The Dark Knight,” who took home five that included top honor for Favorite Movie as well as Favorite Action Movie and Superhero for Batman himself Christian Bale, who dedicated last night to his late co-star Heath Ledger, who died last year of an overdose.

Carrie Underwood, who performed at the show, was truly blessed with three PCA Awards that includes Favorite Female Singer and Star Under 35. Another “American Idol” alum, Jordan Sparks, won for Favorite Combined Froces for her collaboration of “No Air” with Chris Sparks, who was live via satellite in Dublin.

Hugh Laurie and his co-stars was in the “House” last night taking home two for Favorite TV Drama and Male Star. “I love people. The people have been choosing well, recently,” the actor commented.
