Peter Weller is about to go back into outer space in director J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Trek 2. Since the mid-1980s, the actor has remain a favorite among fans of the sci-fi and fantasy genre as protagonists Buckaroo Banzai and Robocop, and starred in the short-lived series Odyssey 5.
Weller also guest-starred on Star Trek: Enterprise for two episodes in 2005, and has had recurring roles on 24 and Dexter. He has recently completed the upcoming Dragon Eyes with martial artists Jean-Claude Van Damme and Cung Le; the film is produced by Joel Silver.
No word on what Weller’s role will be in Star Trek 2, which is set to go into warp speed on May 17, 2013.
