Random Media is releasing the $1.3 million dollar US box office hit EL COYOTE starring Michael Saquella (Dream Round), Robert Costanzo (Die Hard 2), and John Capodice (Speed). The action-comedy film, which screened in 400 theatres across 50 cities in October, is set to release on February 25, on DVD and all digital platforms.
“El Coyote is a classic showdown between two high profile gangs, the Italian mafia, and Mexican cartel,” stated Michael Saquella. “When was the last time you saw, or heard, about the mafia taking on the cartel?”
Directed by Jeffrey Nicholson, EL COYOTE follows a father, Stone Spencer (Saquella), who is living in Arizona in the witness protection program for helping the United States government with his incredible talent which got him in this new life. Stone is a self-made man, and hitman, for the mafia and an undercover killer for the CIA, who has to negotiate a deal with the cartel because they captured his son Jax, a federal ice agent.
After doing what the cartel requested of him, they renege, and all hell breaks loose. There are too many cartel members for a single mobster to handle. He makes a simple call to New York and a dozen or so Italian mobsters fly from New York to Arizona to take care of business with the cartel. Stone has a beautiful ex-wife and a 15-year-old daughter he has to send to a hideaway to protect them from the meanest cartel in all of Mexico. The “Matutero Cartel.” The battle between the Italian mafia and the Mexican cartel has begun.
EL COYOTE, which was filmed in Arizona in the US, was produced by Lenny Mesi and Michael Saquella, and executive produced by Robert Michet.
