It is almost too easy to fall in love with this book. Filled with eloquent imagery, ‘Taste’ sends its reader on a magic carpet ride into Phoenix’s world. Truth be told, I lost sleep the first night it was in my possession – I couldn’t put it down. Even the characters that should be villainous are so charismatic that you have to enjoy them. Phoenix is a strong female lead who stays true to her personality from intro to conclusion. ‘Taste’ could easily be a screenplay. (I can see Zooey Deschanel playing Phoenix)
The old adage about not judging a book by its cover doesn’t apply here. Liliana Sanches has created one of the most beautiful and unique covers that I’ve seen. Honestly, one of the ten best.
Kate Evangelista has definitely poured creativity and depth into her book. Incredible dialogue and unique twists, confirm ‘Taste’ as a sure winner. It crosses genre barriers to appeal to thriller and mystery fans. Our author has raised the bar and thrown down the gauntlet to fellow novelists. Bravo! I award it a sincere 5 of 5 stars. If you’ve read anything from ’30 Days of Night’ to J.K. Rowling’s books, you’ll want to add ‘Taste’ to your library!
