Goatse Security computer experts stumbled upon 114,000 e-mail addresses by guessing iPad numbers from AT&T mobile network.
The e-mail addresses included politicians, military and officials in companies. The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act is to stop unauthorized access to computers, Jennifer Granick-Civil Liberties Director at the Electronic Foundation. It boils down to whether typing information into a public web site is unauthorized, she explained.
“If you do something fraudulent with the data then it’s much more likely that they will charge you,” she continued.

AT&T is figuring out how many e-mail addresses were exposed, and contacting those customers.
