Another Reason To Drop Cable/Satellite Service: Hulu Plus Coming Soon!

hulu

Hulu has officially announced their Hulu Plus service. For $9.99 a month, users will be able to access their favorite television shows current and past episodes as well as popular past shows on a variety of devices.

These devices include:

  • iPhone 3GS/4G (via 3G or WIFI)
  • iPod Touch 3rd Generation
  • iPad (via 3G or WIFI)
  • Microsoft Xbox 360
  • Sony Playstation 3
  • Samsung, Vizio and Sony TVs and Blu-ray players

No official date has been announced yet, but you can head over to http://www.hulu.com/plus/content to check out what content is available that may interest you as well as request an early invite to access Hulu Plus.

For less than $10 a month you can already stream content from Netflix to your computer or televisions with similar methods that Hulu plans to use. Netflix’s television shows are not as current as Hulu, but for less than $10 a month, it’s a good deal. Netflix also has an iPhone app coming this summer as well.

With being able to stream Netflix and Hulu via 3G to your iPhone or iPad soon, its too bad that AT&T decided to cap their bandwidth that they offer their customers.

I believe this will enable customers of cable and satellite companies to drop their over-priced service and access their favorite television shows via Hulu and movies via Netflix all for under $20 a month for both.
