IG Markets, the UK’s provider of Contracts for Difference, has introduced its trading platform for iPad. You can now download the platform from the App Store.
“The launch of our iPad app means we’re now offering our clients an unparalleled choice when it comes to trading on a mobile device,” says Arman Tahmassebi, managing director of IG Markets. “We’re already offering dedicated applications for BlackBerry, iPhone and Android smartphones, while software is also available to download for a range of more traditional handsets. Rounding all this off, our Windows Phone 7 platform is well under development too.”
The tablet computer market is experiencing explosive growth both in the UK and worldwide and the iPad is widely acknowledged as being by far the most popular choice among tablet users.
Trading with IG Markets on the iPad offers you the ability to customize the layout of the application, showing a combination of watch lists, order tickets and charts simultaneously. Furthermore, non-clients will be able to download the app free of charge and receive access to a range of live quotes including the IG Markets FTSE 100 price.
“There can be no denying how popular the IG Markets iPhone app has been to date,” says Tahmassebi. “By the end of September we’d seen 45,000 unique downloads and it now accounts for around 15% of all the transactions carried out by our clients.”
Tahmassebi, judging by user response, is confident that the bigger screen and customizable layout will make IG Market’s trading platform on the iPad just as compelling a proposition.
It is estimated that 3.62 million people currently own tablet computers in the UK, with Apple having a 73 percent share. It is forecasted that a further two million devices will be sold in the UK during 2012.
