Laguna Beach Art Hotel Caters to Artists and Tourists From All Over The World

Laguna Beach, a seaside resort, located in southern Orange County is about an hour and a half south of Los Angeles. It is widely known for its year round climate, scenic beaches and coves and artist community. In the north part of Laguna Beach is The Art Hotel, a boutique hotel which caters to artists and tourists from all over the world.

Gail Duncan, the proprietor, formerly of Michigan, greets her patrons each morning with positive affirmations. “I am thankful that I can instill a positive attitude in the people I’ve met, and share good conversation with them,” Ms. Duncan says. Her humble attitude is more than just meeting people. Gail is a community leader who was appointed by The Laguna Beach City Council for the Housing and Human Services Committee, and she is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Womens Assistance League.

When asked how she found Laguna Beach, Gail Duncan mentioned that while she was in Detroit, Michiga, she had Ford car dealerships and was rated one of the top 100 dealerships in the country, which allowed her to travel and attend conferences, one of which was in Laguna Beach.

Ms. Duncan, an Ambassador for Laguna Beach believes in a healthy environment, where individuals can share in the beauty of the community. One way she contributes to the community is by selling artwork by local artists, letting each artist keep the money their works sell for. “It’s my way of helping the artist survive,” she says. Her business is one of the sponsors of “Art Walk,” a monthly event, held on the first Thursday of each month.

The monthly Art Walk event provides visitors with a complimentary trolley service throughout the art community, celebrating the diverse cultural art scene of Laguna Beach.

Randy Morgan, a world renowned sculptor who frequents the Art Hotel commented, “Gail does so much for the community, she is a beacon of light, especially in helping individuals who are homeless.”

Art Hotel

The Art Hotel has 28 individual rooms, with paintings and prints in the rooms and various seascapes and paintings throughout the property. Each room is equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave, with state of the art LCD televisions and beautifully appointed furniture. The hotel is part of the “Clean the World” partnership, where hotels participate in the recycling of soap, which is sent to Africa.

The Art Hotel is located in the northern part of Laguna Beach at 1404 North Coast Hwy.
