Bodo Militants Kill 15 People In Assam

Bodo militants killed at least 15 people including five women and children in five different attacks in Assam’s Kokrajhar and Sonitpur district on Tuesday evening, police said.

Suspected militants of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Sangbijit) continued their killing spree in Assam, targeting Adivasi people in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur districts.

According to reports, at least 12 people were killed and 10 others were injured in militant attacks in the Phulbari Moitalubasti area and Dhekiajuli area in Sonitpur district along the Arunachal Pradesh border on Tuesday evening.

Bodo militants killed another three Adivasi people and injured 9 others in two attacks in the Serfanguri and Saralpara areas in Kokrajhar district along the Bhutan border.

“Bodo militants killed at least 7 people in Phulbari Moitalubasti area and 5 others in Batashipur area near Dhekiajuli. A militant group equipped with sophisticated weapons came to the remote Adivasi village along the Arunachal Pradesh border and started firing on the villagers. The militants also set ablaze several houses in the villages,” a top police official said.

Meanwhile, the Bodo militants also attacked two Adivasi villages in the Serfanguri area and Saralpara area in Kokrajhar district along the Bhutan border.

Top police and army officials were rushed to the areas and launched operations against the militants.

The injured persons were rushed to the nearest hospitals.
