California GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Pins The War On Women To Jerry Brown

It’s that time again in California. Time to choose the Governor. Democrats and the media have pushed the idea that there is a “War on Women,” and that war is being waged by republicans. Do far, this has been a successful ploy, because most democrats either believe it or they just repeat it, whether or not it is true.

The new California GOP gubernatorial candidate, Tim Donnelly, says the “War on Women” is fake, something dreamed up by “consultants inside the Washington, DC Beltway.”

Donnelly also says there is a real “War on Women,” and that was is being waged under the radar, by governor Jerry Brown, who is releasing convicted criminals “who prey upon women in California.”

Donnelly hired one of the first Republican female campaign managers to run a major gubernatorial race in a large state. Originally his campaign spokeswoman, Jennifer Kerns, was promoted after she helped him take a commanding lead in the GOP field for governor, blowing past his nearest GOP contender by a 2-to-1 margin, according to the latest Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) Poll.

“If there is such a thing as a War on Women,” Donnelly says it’s being waged by “Governor Jerry Brown as he releases violent criminals onto the street to prey upon women in California as he strips women of their 2nd Amendment rights by signing the strictest gun control laws in the nation.”

Donnelly is hitting the digital TV airwaves with a new campaign ad showing footage of the convicted criminal who was released from prison and went home to rape and murder his own grandmother.

California prisons have been overcrowded for years, and many activists have been fighting to secure early release for nonviolent or sick inmates who are unlikely to pose a threat to anyone.

Governor Brown signed into law his “realignment program,” contained in California Assembly Bill (AB) 109, with the aim of saving money and reducing overcrowding in California prisons.

After this law passed, the convicted criminal was released, and he went on to carry out his war on his grandmother.

Donnelly’s TV ad features his wife, Rowena, who acts as a campaign adviser.

In the ad, Donnelly leverages the fact that he has two great women on his side, when he says, “They say next to every great man is a great woman. Well, I’ve got two of them.”

Cleverly making things more difficult for Jerry Brown, Donnelly closes his new ad with: “I believe in women. I don’t believe in early release for criminals who prey on women.”

The California governor’s race is just beginning to heat up, and there is still a long way to go. It will be interesting to see how Jerry Brown counters this one.
