Two days after four maoist rebels were killed in an encounter with security forces at Sadia in Tinsukia district along the Arunachal Pradesh, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday said all militants groups of the north eastern region have a nexus with maoist rebels.
Addressing in a press conference in Guwahati, the Assam CM said maoist had set up their bases in the region specially in Assam and the NE insurgent groups helped them.

On 9th of May, when four maoist rebels were killed, Paresh Asom led anti-talk faction United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) condemned the incident and gave their moral support to the maoists through an issued statement.
“It was a proof that there is a link between the NE outfit groups and maoist,” said Gogoi.
Reports say Maoists are establishing their network in all districts in upper Assam and now planned to spread into the lower Assam.
The Intelligence Bureau (IB) said maoist spread their network in 14 districts in the state and also has set up few camps in Arunachal Pradesh.
The IB report said a 20 members group of maoist were recently trained in a NSCN (IM) camp in Manipur’s Senapati district.
To prevent the maoist activities in the state and neighbouring states, Assam CM urged the union government to extend same support to the region particularly joint operations in the other maoist effected states.
“For tackling this problem, we have to conduct operation not only in Assam but also in the neighbouring states. So I openly support the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) as conducting joint operations, which will give the way to tackling the problem,” Gogoi said.
Meanwhile, Assam DGP Jayanta Narayan Choudhury said the maoist had already formed their arm wing in the state and presently they have 150 armed cadres.
