The citizens of Lao People’s Democratic Republic today celebrated their National Day.
The Lao economy depends heavily on investment and trade with its neighbours like Thailand, Vietnam, and especially in the China, according to Wikipedia.
US Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, speaking in Washington, DC, extended the congratulations of President Obama and the people of the United States, to the people of Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
“This year marks 56 years of diplomatic relations between the United States and Laos.” – Ms. Clinton
She stressed that both countries continue to strengthen their relationship through the Lower Mekong Initiative (LMI) and the many issues we are working together on, from reducing the impact of unexploded ordnance, to improving health, to expanding food security for the people of Laos. Both countries also support the Lao Government in its effort to fully implement our Bilateral Trade Agreement and join the World Trade Organization.

Burmese tourism sector has grown rapidly in recent years. It has become popular with tourists for its relaxed style of living and for retaining elements of the “original Asia.” Its official tourism slogan is “Simply Beautiful.”
