A prominent delegation from Somali Football Federation under the chairmanship of president Said Mahmoud Nur on Wednesday, visited two young football players who were wounded in the last week’s suicide explosions in Mogadishu.
During the visit, the Somali Football Federation President, Mr. Said Mahmoud Nur presented cash to the young footballers who were Siid Ali Mohamed Xiis and Mahmoud Amin Mohamed. Both players recovered from minor injuries they sustained from last week’s suicide attacks in Mogadishu.
The Somali Football Federation president sent the warm greeting from FIFA boss Joseph S. Blatter to the young footballers. Said Mahmoud Nur said that it was an honor for them to receive greetings from such great leader.
“First we pray to Allah for our lost brother and we pray for your full recovery as well,” Somali FA president Said Mahmoud Nur told the young players during the visit after they were discharged from hospital.
“The problem occurred in my absence as I was participating in the CAF congress in Khartoum. You can’t imagine how frustrated I was when I heard the grim news. But praise be to Allah, I see you a live,” president Said Mahmoud Nur said.
One of the wounded players Siid Ali Mohamed Xiis thanked Somali Football Federation for remembering them. “Your precious visit costs a million to us and it really encourages us,” he told the SFF authorities.
“It had never happened in Somalia that football president and his deputies visit their young and wounded players. I can say that the current SFF leaders are more honest than those in the past,” Mahmoud Ibrahim Absuge {Adkeysi} said.
The President was accompanied by his deputies, Ali Said Guled, Abdullahi Abow Hussein, SFF executive committee member Osman Jama Diraa and deputy secretary General Abokar Islow Hassan.
