Young Democrat Lawmakers Reject Obama Legacy

Are Democratic lawmakers turning their back on our 44th president, Barack Obama? In a new Vanity Fair analysis, they refer to Obama being called “a visionary.” Apparently for some Democrats, the newest elected lawmakers, his legacy is beginning to be frowned on.

It seems his legacy, that includes the Affordable Care Act, DACA, and the Paris climate deal, is great. But those items are now hurting the chances of many Democrats in purple states that can go either way on party loyalty.

Obama Legacy Dismantled

What’s worse is the two years of Donald Trump who has single-handedly dismantled the Obama legacy. The achievements listed above for Obama in particular. They are all in the process of being eliminated; others not listed as well.

The Paris Accords were rejected by Trump and we have withdrawn from the agreement. He reversed pro-illegal immigration executive orders, rescinded countless government regulations, repealed the Obamacare individual mandate, and of course, pulled out of the Iran nuclear agreement.

The young faces of the Democratic Party find Obama’s vision of the future devastating to their own sprouting careers. They are keenly aware that the 2016 election was a referendum on a new mindset in America.

What happened to all the buzz of a third term of Obama channeled through Hillary Clinton? It resulted in a shocker for the left.

Obama Policies Caused Democrat Wipeout

It’s important to remember Obama was not on the ballot in 2010, 2014, and 2016, but his policies were. In those three elections, the American people rejected the Democrats in a big fashion with Republicans taking back the House and Senate. Furthermore, more than 1000 federal and state lawmaker positions were lost by the Democrats.

Now it seems the Supreme Court will be next with a third Trump justice on the horizon with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s health a real question. If that happens under Trump’s watch, the Supreme Court will go to the right for at least two generations. The Court had been the salvation of the left, and now that too has evaporated.

The Obama legacy is effectively shredded.
