Online Magazine Rack Attracts Readers With Its Simple Interface, Familiar Feel

By Alan Gray, NewsBlaze

"Don't worry, be crappy. Revolutionary means you ship and then test... Lots of things made the first Mac in 1984 a piece of crap - but it was a revolutionary piece of crap."
Guy Kawasaki

Quite often we see stories and say "Art imitates life" and sometimes, "Life imitates art."

In our relatively new online world, which feels techno-geeky, new and different (sometimes changing every day) occasionally a new idea imitates an old paradigm found in our brick and mortar world.

Translating from a real-world system to online can be difficult and sometimes it just doesn't work at all.

Guy Kawasaki, one-time Apple Fellow, writer, speaker and smart guy recently took an offline idea and brought it online, co-founding an "online magazine rack" of popular topics, called Alltop.

Updating stories every hour, Alltop uses technology to gather and track content from an increasing number of websites, then feeds it back out, listed under various topics.

A little bit like an automated Drudge Report, but with many more categories, Alltop lets you pick a topic by searching, selecting a news category, or name, and then delivers it to you 24 x 7. Guy calls it "All the topics, all the time."

News hounds and researchers can sign up and let Alltop do some of the research work for them. Content providers can supply an RSS feed of unique, useful, regularly updated content and get their stories added and distributed to avid readers.

After an invitation from Guy Kawasaki, how could NewsBlaze not be interested?

Check it out today at www.alltop.com.
