Park Slope, Prospect Park and Brownstones, students sipping cappuccino with laptops and Blackberries, THE TEA LOUNGE exhibits fine realism paintings. You can hear the head-popping buzz of Rockem Sockem Robots, brace yourself as the carousel swings you around or feel the solitude of an empty subway car.

An instructor for 23 years, Andy Sachs majored in art at Brooklyn Tech and later at Brooklyn College. “As a child, I marveled at my grandfather’s skill and patience, while he used colored oils for Paint-by-Number projects. My career began at age nine when I was given his leftover paint sets.”

A million miles away from Paint-by-Numbers, whether nostalgic moments frozen in time or timeless mood, Andy’s paintings capture the life and soul of Brooklyn. Hot dogs, school lunch or a Coney Island Cyclone ride, we cherish always. Lonely streetcar rails of an age gone by, stimulate anew with cobblestones underfoot. The past and present, shadow and light, weave together memory and imagination into a fresh and unique experience.

Come on over. Sip hot chocolate. It’s all tasty and sweet.
