Mogadishu: The former Secretary of Somali National Journalists and president of the Eastern African Journalists Association Omar Faruk Osman was arrested in Mogadishu on Sunday Afternoon by CID forces.
Omar Faruk Osman who claims to be the president of National Journalists (NUSOJ) was arrested in Mogadishu on Saturday afternoon by Somali government security forces.
The security forces of Somali government have arrested Omar Faruq from a peace 2 hotel at KM4 area in Mogadishu, and is detained in CID station in Mogadishu on 18 August 2013.
Mohamed Ibrahim the current secretary of National Journalists of Somalia (NOSUJ) told that the government forces arrested Omar and their side put warrant to Omar Faruq.
Mohmed Ibrahim told Radio Dalsan that Omar Faruq is a criminal and accused of forging the name of NOSUJ universally and added that Omar will face justice under government rules.
No comment yet from the government according to Omar Faruk’s arrest was released.
