CAF President Issa Hayatou Congratulates Souleiman Hassan Waberi

The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Issa Hayatou has written to the newly-elected president of Djibouti Football Federation Souleiman Hassan Waberi to congratulate him on his victory in the presidential election.

“On the occasion of your election as President of the Federation Djibouti Football Following a General Meeting held on 10 November, I wish to convey on behalf of the CAF and its Executive Committee my warmest congratulations and my best wishes for success in this new function,” CAF president Issa Hayatou said in a letter he sent to President Waberi of which CECAFA media was given a copy Sunday.

The new president is a long-serving FIFA/ CAF commissioner and CAF referee instructor who had played a key role in the development of the referee sector in the east Africa’s smallest country.

“Be assured of our continued support and our commitment to strengthen the positive relationship between the Confederation and the Federation of Djibouti Football. I wish you the greatest success in this new challenge and I am looking advance to initiate a collaboration,” CAF president Issa Hayatou said in his congratulatory message Sunday.

“Please accept, Sir, the assurance of my best wishes,” president Hayatour noted in his message to Souleiman Waberi on Sunday.
