Germany destroyed Argentina today to advance into the Semi Finals of the World Cup in a game that many expected Argentina to win.
Muller got the ball rolling very early on when he stuck his head on a freekick in the third minute. Argentina pressed for an equalizer but their star players struggled to get into the game with Messi resorting to running into his own half just to pick up the ball.
Klose tapped in a second goal to stamp a seal on this game with twenty minutes left before Fredrich added a third to really make the Argentinians suffer. Messi, Tevez, Higuain and company didn’t really create any chances and could only blast a few shots at goal from distance, coming close with none of them.
In the closing minutes of the game Klose grabbed his second and Germany’s forth. Germany, who have now scored 4 goals against three different teams in this World Cup – with Australia, England and now Argentina falling to their youthful side – advance into the Semi Finals.
Spain play Paraguay tonight to decide who will meet the Germans, and the Semi Finals follow next week.
