Coach Cooper and the Lightning were quiet Thursday night regarding the status of goalie Ben Bishop. Bishop will not be playing in Game Four and mystery continues to surround exactly what is going on with the goalie.
The 28-year-old Bishop did not even appear in pregame warmups meaning that Latvian Kristers Gudlevskis will be the backup goalie behind Vasilevskiy.
Bishop exited, reappeared, and again then exited Game Two with a non-disclosed injury. Vasilevskiy would finish the game for the Bishop giving them the win.
Game Three would see Bishop begin and finish the game appearing to get up slowly after low saves, seen especially after interference from the Blackhawks in the 2nd period.
The Lightning will be in great hands despite Vasilevskiy’s youth. He did fantastic in Game Two for Tampa Bay, coming in for Bishop late in the game and showing veteran-like maturity to seal the win against Chicago making five clutch saves.
